I thought it would be fun to do a top 10 for the year, or maybe 11 for 2011. But it was too hard to condense the year and narrow down my pictures that much. So here are 18 pictures to recap 2011. It doesn’t have quite the same ring as a “top 10” or “11 for ’11” would, but oh well. As you can tell, we had a lot of fun in 2011. And this doesn’t even include all our park playdates, or our trips to the Children’s Museum, the Georgia Aquarium, and Zoo Atlanta, or all her playtime at home, playing dress-up and doing arts and crafts, or a bunch of other random fun we’ve had throughout the year. But it covers most of the big highlights from the year I think. I’m looking forward to 2012 being another great year, and hoping to keep up even better with this blog in 2012.
We started the year with a snow storm in Georgia that had us homebound for almost a week! But we did have fun playing out in the yard! Andrea still talks about it.
Then in February, we had a weekend warm enough that we went on a last-minute camping trip! We took several more camping trips in 2011, but this was the most unusual, since we were wearing shorts and T-shirts in February!
In the Spring, Andrea took a tumbling class with a friend of hers. She really enjoyed tumbling and wants to do it again next year.
Over Spring Break, we flew to Missouri to visit relatives, especially my grandmother, who had ovarian cancer and was running out of treatments. We went back in November for her funeral.
Andrea had a princess “dressing up” party for her 3rd birthday.
She went to her first Braves’ game with Uncle Thor, who came to town for a visit.
We went to Florida in May, and spent a day at Disney World.
We went to the Lake of the Ozarks for July 4th weekend.
My mom came to town and took us to the beach in Florida, where Andrea really enjoyed the ocean for the first time!
In August, Andrea started 3 year old preschool!
She played soccer in the Fall
We went to a pumpkin patch in October when Paul’s dad came to visit, and the most memorable part for Andrea was riding the pony who had braids in her hair.
She was Cinderella for Halloween, and I was the Fairy Godmother.
She had fun with her cousins in Washington over our Thanksgiving trip.
And fun with Grandma’s Beanie Babies in Utah.
We played in the leaves in December, back in Atlanta.
Showed off her ballet/tap skills at her class’s Christmas performance.
And of course, had a great Christmas!
