Christmas Artwork!

How has it been a week since I last updated the blog??? Oops. We’ve obviously been busy. I still haven’t had a chance to finish going through all the pictures from our trip, so those updates will have to wait, but I did have some of Andrea’s artwork that I wanted to show off… At this point, she’s about as good at drawing as I’ve ever been. LOL!

We got out the tempera paint a couple of times last week, and both times she wanted to paint Rudolph. The first one was in rainbow colors (she loves coloring/painting things in rainbow colors), but the second time she did it in brown and red, just like Rudolph. I was so impressed! 🙂

She’s also gotten really good at coloring/painting inside the lines, and has been doing that at every opportunity, so I offered to draw something for her to fill in with paint. She requested a Christmas tree (notice the rainbow colors she used):

I teach the 2’s & 3’s Sunday School class at our church every other week, and this past Sunday we talked about Bethlehem, and how it’s known as the City of David, so I made popsicle-stick Star of Davids and let the kids color them in with markers to make ornaments for the tree. Andrea went with rainbow colors on this also, as you can see.

I also thought we’d do some wreath crafts, since she likes gluing things. The big one she painted the paper plate green with red pots, then she glued on the holly and put star stickers on it after the paint dried. She saw the two holly leaves with a berry pattern on another wreath and was copying that on her own, then I added the bow to finish it off. This is definitely one I’ll be saving. We also did a couple of smaller wreaths, and on those, I encouraged her to just do it however she wanted. We sent one of the small wreaths we did to my grandfather, who broke his shoulder and is going in for surgery this week. I thought a get well card with some of Andrea’s arts and crafts might help cheer him up.

She also drew some pictures for my granddad with her markers. Here’s another Rudolph, followed by a pink Frosty the Snowman. She’s seriously more artistic than I ever was.
